Lead Gardener: Cambium Inc

If you meet our qualifications below and are hired, at 60 days, you will receive $250 bonus, at 6 months, another $500 bonus, and at one year, a $1,000 bonus for crew or $3,000 for a qualified lead!!!

Gardening with us, you’ll perform a wide array of work on beautiful residential properties. Client’s homes include an estate on Lake Washington with many seasonally planted exotic tropical plants, a formal walled courtyard garden, and a gorgeous five acre garden on Union Hill. We are searching for an experienced (3 years minimum), skilled gardener and proven crew leader, as well as general crew. You must be responsible, have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented, like to work outdoors and care about your job. The Lead candidate must be able to successfully manage and direct a crew of two or three workers, keeping them on task and productive, meeting budget and time goals. You might be at an estate all day or tend to three or more gardens per day working from approximately 7:00am to roughly 3:30pm. Typically the LEAD drives our small dump truck. Crew rides along with them if all employees are vaccinated against Covid, otherwise crew must get to jobsites with their own transportation (Cambium pays mileage between jobs).

Daily tasks include: weeding, watering, deadheading annuals in flower beds and containers, perennial care, shrub care, tree pruning up to 15′, air sweeping of hard surfaces, fertilizing and pest control, lawn mowing and edging, cultivating soils, also some irrigation, water feature and landscape lighting maintenance. Seasonal tasks include: mulching/composting garden beds, pressure washing, irrigation start up and winterization, container planting switch-outs, bedding plant installations, winter pruning of trees. We pride ourselves on creating and maintaining these beautiful gardens. Most of our wonderful clients have been with us many years. They often say thank you to the crews and really appreciate good work.

To work with us you must be able to lift 60 pounds and on occasion, up to 80 pounds, perform gardening type work for sustained periods. Three years of residential garden maintenance experience is required. CPH certification is preferred. Ability to speak conversational Spanish is a plus.

Compensation with full time status after 60 day probation period:
