2024 WALP Northwest Premiere Landscape Award Recipients

February 13, 2025 – The Washington Association of Landscape Professionals, celebrating over 40 years of defining professionalism in the green industry is proud to announce our 2024 Northwest Premiere Landscape Awards program recipients.

The purpose of the program is to recognize outstanding performance by Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP) members; foster personal and company pride in superior workmanship; publicize the Association and the Industry and encourage future business for WALP members.

Award of Merit – Meets Industry Standards
Award of Distinction – Exceeds Industry Standards
Grand Award – There is Little or No Room for Improvement
Judge’s Award – Awarded at the Discretion of the Judges

JUDGE’S AWARD presented to PLACE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE – Design/Build for the Iron Eagle Lodge

A panel of experts representing the Landscape Industry have judge the entries through digital presentations. Judges may be selected from the following landscape disciplines: Construction, Maintenance, Design, Irrigation, Horticulture, and Education.

Additionally, the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals recognized outstanding individuals for their dedication and volunteerism on behalf of WALP. Executive Director Peter Dervin, handed out several President’s Awards on behalf of WALP State President Tim Buiten to the following:

• WALP Contractor Member of the Year for 2024: Rick Longnecker of Buds and Blades Landscape Company
• WALP Supplier of the Year for 2024: Turf Star Western
• WALP Honorary Emeritus Member Award to 3-Time WALP State President Michael Murphy of Sunrise Landscape Design

The Washington Association of Landscape Professionals is celebrating its 40th Anniversary, being founded in 1984.

All Awards were recognized at the 2024 Northwest Premiere Landscape Awards Dinner on February 7, 2025 in conjunction with the 2025 Northwest Landscape Industry Conference & Trade Show presented by the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals and sponsored by Turf Star Western.
