WALP provides comprehensive educational offerings for professionals of all types in the Green Industry. In fact, many employers seek us out as a first resource for their employee training needs. So whether you are looking to brush up on your landscape and irrigation plan reading skills, become more familiar with major plant identification characteristics, learn what it takes to have a successful design/build firm, or need a broader understanding of organics, WALP is where you can find educational programming to meet your professional needs.

Chapter Meetings
During the course of the year, WALP’s Local Chapters conduct Chapter Meetings that emphasizes educational speakers and topics – further helping to advance the professionalism of individuals in the Green Industry.

Education Foundation
Since its inception, the WALP Education Foundation has funded educational excellence by awarding scholarships to students of the Green Industry.

These future leaders will define the standards of professionalism and use their education to meet future challenges of the Industry.

Two scholarships are awarded each year to students who are enrolled in a technical or community college offering a landscape/horticulture program. High school seniors planning on attending a college program are also eligible. Scholarships are based on merit and/or need. Candidates are evaluated on academic standing, industry and school involvement, leadership potential, and financial need.

PLANET
WALP is a member of PLANET, the Professional Landcare Network. PLANET is an international association serving lawn care professionals, landscape management contractors, design/build/installation professionals, and interior plantscapers. PLANET provides its members with a good business foundation to help them evaluate, plan, and better manage their companies.

Member firms have direct access to marketing tools, industry specific business publications, updates on legislative issues, and networking opportunities that can assist them in becoming more profitable.
